Where possible and certainly if you are coming from within a 10 kilometer radius of the Factory, we recommend that you arrive by public transport and return by taxi (or public transport). The Newtown/Enmore Precinct are well served by public transport both trains and buses, late into the evening.

The following bus services stop outside the theatre: 423 and 426 (428 turns off at Addison Rd – Vic on the Park Hotel, 2 min walk from the Factory.) These services operate from Circular Quay via Central Station.

The combination of these three bus services results in an average frequency of around one bus every 10-15 minutes.   Service frequencies are greatest on weekdays and lowest on weekends.   Regular bus services cease at around midnight on most evenings.   Around one-third of services are accessible, and these are identified on timetables.

Trains

The Factory Theatre is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride from Newtown Railway Station. Bus services 423 and 426 operate from Newtown Station directly to The Factory Theatre. These services are reasonably frequent and continue late into the evening (after midnight). The Factory Theatre is also a 15 minute walk from Sydenham and Marrickville Railway Stations.

Cycling

Bicycle parking racks are available onsite within the Factory Theatre’s carpark, and signs identify the location of these racks.

Walking

The Newtown/Enmore precinct is pedestrian friendly, with well lit main thoroughfares. The Factory Theatre is 10 minutes walk from the Enmore Theatre or 20 minutes walk from Newtown Station.   The walking route from Newtown Station and Enmore Theatre along Enmore Road and Victoria Road is direct, well-lit and secure.

Unrestricted Parking

Newtown, Enmore and Marrickville are well served by public transport and taxis. However, if it is necessary to drive there is limited onsite parking, and plentiful local street parking.

In the immediate vicinity there is a small number of residential houses and patrons are strongly requested not to park in front of any houses. Patrons are recommended to park on one of the following streets which offer plentiful, unrestricted parking:

  • Victoria Road, including and along Enmore Park.
  • Rich Street, immediately past The Factory Theatre, on the right when travelling from the city.
  • Chapel Street, 20 meters past Rich Street on the left, when travelling from the city.

Patrons are asked to respect the neighbours by not parking in front of houses, especially along Cook Road, Brompton and Smith Streets. Patrons are also asked to keep noise to a minimum when returning to their vehicles.

Reserved Parking

Limited paid reserved parking is also available at Enmore Design TAFE located at 110 Edgeware Road, Enmore (Cnr of Camden Street) on a first in, first served basis.

The car park is open from 6pm – 12midnight on select nights.

The Factory Theatre has a Licensed Bar. The Bars offer confectionery, snacks, soft drinks and alcohol. The following forms of I.D are required to purchase alcoholic beverages: current Driver License, Proof of Age card or current Passport.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to those who cannot meet our Conditions of Entry

Conditions of Entry
To ensure the safety of other patrons, the following conditions of entry apply:

– ID
ID is required for 18+ events or sections to enter the venue. We accept a valid Driver’s License, Passport or Proof of Age Card.

– Items/Bags
Management reserves the right to inspect or search any clothing, bags, containers or packages you intend to bring into the venue. This may include a pat-down, bag search or wanding.

Management / Security will confiscate items and refuse entry to anyone suspected or found to be in possession of a weapon, or any item that may place any person in danger.  

Neither management, security, staff or the promoter will be liable for any loss, injury or damage suffered or incurred by you or any other person entering or attending the event. 

– Smoking/Vaping
Smoking or Vaping is strictly not permitted inside the venue. 

– Intoxication
Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any person or to remove any person from the venue who showing signs of intoxication. Patrons will be refused entry, refused service and asked to stay at least 50 metres from the venue. 

– External food or drink
Glass or metal bottles are prohibited. Only empty plastic bottles are allowed. You can refill your bottle up inside at our bars. 

External food, such as ice cream, drinks, and snacks, are not allowed in the venue.  

– Cameras
No professional cameras without prior approval. Sound and video recorders are not permitted to be brought into the venue. 

Only personal use photography is allowed, and flash photography is strictly prohibited. You may have to cloak your camera if it is deemed to be of professional grade, too large, and/or has a detachable lens.

You may use your smartphone, a point & shoot camera and/or small film camera. 

– Event Filming
The event may be filmed and it is a condition of entry that you agree that your image may be broadcast. 

– Anti-social Behaviour
Our premises are protected by CCTV. Any anti-social or illegal activity or threat to safety will not be tolerated. Patrons who cause a disturbance or refuse to comply with directions from management, security, or staff will be removed from the venue. 

– Drugs, Weapons and Violence
We have a zero tolerance policy towards illicit drugs, including their use, sale and supply. We reserve the right to conduct searches (including pat downs), confiscate illegal drugs and refuse entry on these grounds. Police will be notified upon the discovery of prohibited drugs of any kind.

Weapons of any kind or illicit drugs or other similar substances are NOT permitted to be brought into the venue. Along with all other items noted in the prohibited items.

We have zero tolerance for violence. To ensure the safety of our patrons anyone found to be breaking conditions of entry inside or outside the event or any behaviour deemed to be anti-social will be refused entry and/or removed from the venue without a refund. 

Management reserves the right to Refuse Entry to any persons wearing ‘Colours’, ‘insignia’ or pictures signifying belonging to any Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs or other groups as designated by Police

– Other Items determined by Management & Security that may cause injury or public nuisance.

The Factory Theatre hosts a variety of food trucks in the courtyard with Island Boys Foods holding a permanent residence. Island Boys have been dishing up Jamaican food and seasonal barbecue each and every night at the Factory for the past 10 years.
