2025 marks the 50-year anniversary for THE BABYS!
THE BABYS were formed in London in 1975 and were well known for their blend of rock and melodic
power pop. The band's sound was characterized by catchy melodies, harmonic vocals, and slick
production, which gained them critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.
THE BABYS became prominent in the late 1970’s and early 1980s’ with a string of successful albums and
singles, with such songs as Isn't It Time, Every Time I Think of You, Back on My Feet Again, Midnight
Rendezvous and Head First, (and others!) becoming Billboard Chart favorites. THE BABYS created some
of the most memorable arena anthems of their era. Today, the shows are jam packed with material that
has entire audiences on their feet – singing and dancing to every tune. The songs are not stripped down in any way – they are played to the record, giving fans the full appreciation of THE BABYS incredible
catalog!
Despite lineup changes, their untimely breakup in the early 80’s, and shifts in the music industry, THE
BABYS have maintained a dedicated fanbase that has continued through to today. Their influence can
be felt in the works of many contemporary rock artists, and they are often celebrated for their contributions to the genre. With their blend of classic rock sensibilities and a penchant for catchy songwriting, THE BABYS remain a beloved part of rock history.
Fast forward to 2011-12, Tony Brock and Wally Stocker (with the endorsements from ex-Babys John
Waite, Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips) launched a search to find the right key players to bring back the
current version of THE BABYS. After several months of auditions – they selected John Bisaha to be the
lead vocalist/bass player, offered Holly Bisaha to be the first ‘Babette’ since the 80’s, then later selected
Joey Sykes for rhythm guitar duties. Shortly thereafter, Elisa Chadbourne joined Holly and they became
the latest incarnation of The Babettes. For the better part of the last 7 plus years – Walter Ino has been
on keyboards/guitar.
This (12+ years now) ‘new’ incarnation of THE BABYS created an instant buzz with their first new song in
30 years, the aptly titled Not Ready to Say Goodbye, which was released in November 2013. It had all
the classic BABYS elements – amazing vocals, thoughtful lyrics and a chorus that works on your soul. In June 2014, fans were blown away with the release of their album – I’ll Have Some of That!, which boasted 12 dynamic, new songs that resonated with the classic BABYS sound, including the single I See You There. That single was released at the end of 2014 and reached #5 on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales Chart and stayed in the top-10 (reaching #5 as well) on FMQB’s AC Top-40 for 10 weeks. In 2021-22, THE BABYS released their latest album Anthology 2, which has over 26 tunes that encompass both the classic tunes from the 70’s/80’s as well as new new tracks brought forward by the current version of THE BABYS.
