This event aims to be the biggest ticketed concert of PRAKASH SAPUT in Australia. The magnificence to the show would be enhanced by KUMA SAGAR- the rising singing Superstar in Nepal.” - Anil Dhakal, CEO- Yak & Yeti Events
The real MUSIC FROM THE HIMALAYAS has been planned for 17 Dec 2023, Sunday.
A lot of artists from Nepal come to Australia and perform almost every month. A very few of them showcase any real Nepali sound. Most of them are merely a copy of foreign music genres sung in Nepali language. This show has been designed to cover that deficit. When we present Nepali artists overseas, we believe it has to have that “Himalayan” element. That originality we’re talking about here is the true Nepali sound we can find in Saput’s music, content and lyrics, and Kuma Sagar’s fusion of truly local Newari hymns (Bhajan) and western rock.
MUSIC FROM THE HIMALAYAS promises to bring the Himalayan exotism to Sydney. The show has planned to feature three artists:
Mr. Prakash Saput (YouTube: @PrakashSaput):Prakash Saput is a gem in the rural folk tunes from western Nepal. He is a sensational all-round artist and the biggest singing star in Nepal with staggering 2.2 million subscribers with 358 million plus views in his YouTube channel – highest among any Nepalese singing artists.Mr. Saput changed the Nepalese music scene some five years ago with his creativity “Dohori Battle” (19m views) which was a fusion of rural Nepalese folk tunes and a Rap battle. It was followed by “Dohori Battle 2” (25m views) the next year and his groundbreaking number “Galbandi” (57m views) the same year. The fusion music he created worked as a bridge to two music genres and its niche crowd. The urban younger listeners got a taste of the rural folk sounds. Similarly, the rural folk lovers got a taste of the Hiphop music to which the urban Nepalese youth crowd was attracted more and more with the proliferation of the information technology.
Mr. Kuma Sagar (YouTube: @kumasagar5957):Sagar Prajapati AKA Kuma Sagar (stage name) represents the core of Nepalese cultural heritage in his music style. He comes from the cultural city of Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu valley from the Newari community and possesses a soulful voice. His music is a fusion of western rock and traditional religious hymns (Bhajan) of the Newari people of the valley and is uniquely an indigenous sound in that sense. Without a doubt, he is an emerging singing sensation of Nepal and sings in multiple local dialects.
Ms Sandhya Joshi and Mr Ulson Shrestha (TikTok: @sandhyajoshi / @ulson_stha): Their friendship on the Nepal Idol stage turned into a conjugal life for this couple. Nepal Idol Season One top 8 contestants couple will rock the opening stage in the HIMALAYAN way!
UPDATE: Nepal Idol season 3 winner was also planned to feature in the concert initially, which has been cancelled due to technical reasons."
