'All Stripped Back'
Classics Redefined & A Record Launch!
It's been a hot minute since the last record release ... especially after three decades!! Having celebrated the 30th anniversary of their chart topping 1991 sophomore album, 'Blind Love' in 2021, an idea was borne by Ratcat to re-record selected tracks from that album (plus favourites from the era), however slightly reworking each song to create a collection of reconstructed versions, acoustic style!
Landing Friday October 13th 2023, indie punk pop legends, Ratcat present their latest audio slice 'All Stripped Back' - the first in 22 years since the release of the 'Twisted Tails' compilation. Being two years in the making, 'All Stripped Back' features a selection of classic Ratcat tracks - 10 songs featured via the limited edition yellow coloured vinyl version and 12 songs via limited edition CD and streaming platforms.
Released via MGM Distribution, 'All Stripped Back' presents the first time Ratcat have ventured lo-fi music territory, experimenting with instrumentation resulting in this selection
of reinterpreted classics. Ratcat founder, Simon Day explains ... "All Stripped Back is a celebration of songs from the Ratcat archive. I wanted to experiment with producing, and limit myself to acoustic instruments without FX so the songs could speak for themselves."
To celebrate, RATCAT will once again take to the stage for an exclusive & special launch show where, for the first time in their decades long career, perform a two set performance - the first representing the acoustic style of the album and then a second set in true Ratcat fuzz rock pop punk style we all know and love!
Taking place Friday December 8th at Sydney's much loved Factory Theatre, this one off show will go on sale Wednesday October 4th at 9.00am sharp and will feature special guests TBA.
